TEDx Talks Releases Hend Sabry’s Talk “My Mom and The Theory of Relativity”

TEDx Talks Youtube channel released yesterday the video of Hend Sabry’s talk titled “My Mom and The Theory of Relativity” in TEDx Cairo Women, which was held on Saturday, May 30th at the American University in Cairo (AUC). For 15 minutes, Hend spoke about her mother as the dreamy adventurous heroine.
Hend Sabry’s talk witnessed the highest number of attendees in TEDx Cairo Women ever with 137 people. According to the conducted survey, Hend’s talk was selected as one of the top three most inspiring talks during the day as she choose to pay tribute to her mother instead of talking about her work and artistic projects. The audience also mentioned that Hend’s talk made them appreciate the generations of their mothers more.
In one of the most queer and inspiring incidents in the same time, the side story between Hend Sabry and Nahla El Nemr, a participant who talked prior to Hend’s talk. Nahla grew up in an orphanage since she was two years old and her talk also was one of the most three inspiring talks during the day. When Nahla knew that Hend Sabry was going to be one of the speakers, she told TEDx volunteers that she knows Hend. Later on when the core team shared with Hend the names of the speakers with few lines on the background of each of them, Hend did not comment on Nahla.
On asking her about her relationship with the Tunisian star, Nahla explained that Hend used to be one of the public figures who visited the orphanage she was brought up in. When Hend knew that, she said that Nahla’s face was familiar to her and was easy to be remembered. Hend Sabry and Nahla El Nemr chatted for a while then Hend paid a salutation to Nahla before the audience right before she started her talk.
TEDx Cairo Women is part of annual non-profit conferences organized by the American organization TED and since December 2013 it has been regarded as a platform for many people to talk and share their thoughts and different experiences in the light of women’s issues. TED channel has more than one million followers on Youtube and is regarded as the major public platform for the audience to watch the talks as the conferences can only be attended through personal invitation only.
Hend Sabry is one of the four leading women helped promoting Women’s Uprising in the Arab world’s campaign on Facebook, a movement inspired by the Arab Spring and demanding the right to gender equality in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations, and also calls for ensuring freedom, independence and safety for Arab women.
Highly engaged in humanitarian activities, Sabry has been collaborating with the WFP since 2009 to raise awareness about the hunger crisis in the Arab region. For her genuine activeness, she was officially named an ambassador against hunger for the UN World Food Program in 2010.

TEDx Talks تطلق كلمة هند صبري بعنوان أمي والنظرية النسبية على يوتيوب

أطلقت أمس قناةTEDx Talks على يوتيوب مقطع فيديو للكلمة التي ألقتها النجمة هند صبري بعنوان أمي والنظرية النسبية في مؤتمرTEDx Cairo Women الذي أقيم يوم السبت 30 مايو – أيار في الجامعة الأميركية بالقاهرة، تحدثت خلالها هند في 15 دقيقة، عن والدتها باعتبارها المرأة الحالمة والبطلة والمغامرة.
وقد شهدت الكلمة أكبر عدد من الحضور في تاريخ مؤتمرات TED بالقاهرة، والذي تمثل في 137 حاضراً، وبالإضافة إلى هذا، فوفقاً لاستقصاء الحضور، تم اعتبار كلمة هند صبري بين أكثر 3 كلمات إلهاماً خلال اليوم، وتمثلت الأسباب في أن هند اختارت تكريم والدتها في الكلمة بدلاً من الحديث عن أعمالها ومشروعاتها الفنية، كما ذكر بعضهم في الاستبيان أن الكلمة ساهمت في زيادة تقديرهم وإجلالهم لجيل والدتها. وفي أحد أكثر المواقف الإنسانية والغريبة في الوقت نفسه هو المصادفة التي وقعت بين هند صبري والمتحدثة السابقة لها نهلة النمر التي نشأت في ملجأ أيتام منذ أن كانت في الثانية من عمرها وكانت كلمتها أيضاً من أكثر 3 إلهاماً خلال اليوم.
وقد تمثل الموقف في أنه بمجرد علمها بأن هند صبري ستتحدث بعدها مباشرةً، ذكرت نهلة للمتطوعين في TEDx أنها تعرف هند جيداً، وعندما أطلع المتطوعون هند على أسماء المتحدثات خلال اليوم ونبذة مختصرة عن كل منهن، لم يظهر على هند أنها تعرف نهلة أبداً.
وبسؤالها عن حقيقة معرفتها بالنجمة التونسية، أوضحت نهلة النمر أن هند صبري كانت من النجوم والشخصيات العامة التي كانت تحرص باستمرار على زيارة ملجأ الأيتام الذي نشأت فيه نهلة، وعندما علمت هند هذه المعلومة قالت إن وجه نهلة كان مألوفاً بالنسبة لها، وبالتالي كان من السهل تذكرها. وقد ساهم هذا الموقف في أن تحدث الاثنان كثيراً، ثم وجهت هند صبري التحية إلى نهلة النمر قبل بدء كلمتها.
TEDx Cairo Women هو جزء من مؤتمرات غير هادفة للربح تنظمها مؤسسة TED الأميركية، وقد بدأ في ديسمبر – كانون الأول 2013، وهو يعتبر منصة من خلالها يمكن للعديد من الأشخاص التحدث ومشاركة آرائهم وأفكارهم وتجاربهم المختلفة فيما يتعلق بالموضوعات التي تخص المرأة، وتمتلك مؤسسة TED أكثر من مليوني متابع على موقع يوتيوب، الذي يعتبر منصة رئيسية يشاهد الجمهور من خلالها الكلمات التي ألقاها المتحدثون، حيث يمكن حضور المؤتمرات من خلال الدعوات الشخصية فقط. وتُعد هند صبري واحدة من أبرز 4 نساء ساهمن في الترويج لحملة انتفاضة المرأة في العالم العربي على صفحات فيسبوك، وهي حركة مستوحاة من ثورات الربيع العربي وتطالب بحق المساواة بين الجنسين طبقاً للإعلان العالمي لـحقوق الإنسان الصادر من الأمم المتحدة، كما تنادي بضمان الحرية والاستقلال والأمان للنساء العربيات.
وتحرص هند صبري على المشاركة في العديد من الأنشطة الاجتماعية والإنسانية، ففي عام 2009 بدأت في التعاون مع برنامج الغذاء العالمي التابع للأمم المتحدة لرفع الوعي حول مشكلات الجوع في المنطقة العربية، وفي عام 2010 أختيرت رسمياً سفيرة لـمكافحة الجوع في برنامج الغذاء العالمي التابع للأمم المتحدة.
